The second meeting in the BASKET partnership was organised in London, at NRDC, Institute of Education, on February 26-28, and focused on methods, balance between theory and practice and the most important challenges in continuous development of basic skill teachers. Teaching practice (TP) groups provide a way of training teachers in the practical elements of teaching and can also be used for assessment. Their particular strength is in joining theory and practice. We will use film of teachers training using TP groups to lead a discussion of the place of theory and practice in Initial Teacher Education.
